My grandparents served during the Second World War, and I will always be grateful that they returned home. So many others did not, leaving behind families, loved ones and futures that would never be fulfilled. Their generation understood the enormous cost of war, and the freedoms we enjoy today owe so much to the courage and sacrifice of those who served. But my gratitude does not stop with that generation. It extends to every man and woman who has ever made the commitment to serve in our Armed Forces, knowing that doing so may one day require them to risk their life in the service of others.

To those who returned, those who bear the lasting physical or unseen consequences of service, those who continue to serve, and those who never came home: thank you. Your service, courage and sacrifice must never be taken for granted or forgotten.

We owe you more than remembrance. We owe you our enduring gratitude, respect and support.

    Lest We Forget.
