We must never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice, those who returned carrying wounds both visible and invisible, and the families who stood behind us throughout our service.

For many veterans, the battles do not end when the uniform comes off. Our duty to remember, respect and support them must never end either.

Our brave men and women deserve to be recognised as heroes whatever their job was. The services are like a well oiled machine and after serving they all deserve to be remembered and helped. My grandfather was killed in Greece as the war ended in April 1918 he was only 19 and left a wife and daughter my mum who never knew him but was so proud of his sacrifice as are the whole family.
