My family has served in the various branches of our Armed Forces for generations & my 2 brothers and I have served and now are Veterans. I have a son-in-law who’s served about 15 years so far & although things are much improved for serving members, there’s still so much to be done.

Veterans on the other hand are pretty much forgotten- unless they’re being maliciously dragged through the courts for doing their duty at the time. Throw in disabled veterans around the four nations and the shambles becomes a bigger shambles. The Armed Forces Covenant is pretty much a joke here in Northern Ireland.

I would hope that many important improvements are brought in before my son-in-law joins the Veteran ranks and if it means dragging our ‘beloved’ politicians dragging and screaming to the end of the process tunnel, then so be it!!

Join Britain's Biggest Thank You To Veterans
