My late Father Sgt. Jonah Drake Farrar and his younger brother Private Arthur Farrar were both members of Lt. Jack Lauder’s Platoon, A Company, 1st Battalion Hampshire Regiment on D-Day. Sadly, Arthur was killed on D-Day and is buried in the Bayeux Military Cemetery. My father was seriously wounded in Eindhoven on 18 September 1944 during Operation Market Garden.
